Cultural Appropriation

It is out of honor, respect and a deep admiration for Chinese culture that I decided that I would make a dress in the style of the qipao/cheongsam with my prints. I personally have lived in a multi-cultural environment my entire life. My mother’s family is from England and I had a career in San Francisco as a Realtor working primarily with people of Cantonese/Chinese ancestry. When I came to Hong Kong I felt at home. I have a vision of the world in which the best of our cultures are shared for creative people to combine elements to help make the world a more beautiful place for all of us. I have a vision that designers and artists can help make a world of peace and beauty for all of us. I hope you will share in my vision.

Sizing Information

When you buy a work of art you have a vision in your mind of how it will look in the space in which you plan to view it. It fits “just right” in your mind’s eye in that space and it enriches your life. This is how we hope our dresses will fit into your life as well. Please order a dress that is “Tailor made to measure”. The tailors I’m working with in Hong Kong will do their best to make a dress for you that will fit you perfectly and enrich your life.

I highly recommend you get measured by a professional tailor and send a photo of yourself. There are so many websites and you tube videos that can help you learn how to accurately measure yourself - simply google “how to measure yourself for a qipao” and many pages will pop right up. Relax and have fun and send the measurements and photo to hello@LouisKlein.io.
