David Louis Klein studied filmmaking and theater acting in his early twenties. He has gone on to have a successful career as a real estate broker in San Francisco in which well over 80% of his clients are of Chinese ancestry. Growing up in Los Angeles with friends of many different ethnicities he developed an interest in learning about all the wonderful cultures in our world and has developed a deep appreciation for Chinese culture. He was inspired to make the cheongsam style dress after a young fashion designer from Japan made her first collection of Asian style dresses with his prints and watching the movie “Mood for Love”. He decided to move forward to create a brand after he saw a book in a shop in the Airport in Taiwan about Giuseppe Castiglione, an Italian Jesuit painter who served as an artist at the Imperial court of three Qing emperors and created beautiful paintings in the Chinese style.
